Re: Ever wonder what an unaltered REAL Begins Cowl would look like in urethane?
Well, I did a second mold for my own satisfaction and a more accurate "matte" finish. I'm also working on achieving the perfect grey-black color. I plan on making future armor pieces this new color. So now I have 2 options. As you can see with warlock, the shinier black matches Bobs stuff and most other previously casted armor pieces perfectly. Best of both worlds.
And a comparo shot

I think the matte look is much better. Just my personal opinion though. Someday I'll do a Begins, probably not for a while though. Hopefully i'll be able to grab one of those when the time comes!

Re: Ever wonder what an unaltered REAL Begins Cowl would look like in urethane?
i was visiting a friend over the weekend who worked on the suits for begins and he was telling me that when they cast the suits, they chucked in all the different black pigments they could find but couldnt get it as black as they wanted so the greyish luck was a complete fluke

I'm glad they couldn't get it black. The grey look is one of the best parts of the Begins suit!
Great work Jeff, I really hope to get some of your wares sometime, you've really got a fan in this Begins Batman.

I always assumed it just appeared grey on film due to how foam eats light.
