Thanks for the comments guys! Yep, I know it's a Bob D. sculpt, which is why I love it so much. The shoulders even fit me perfectly, which is awesome. I was concerned that they might be too big, as the Begins v2 is almost a tad too broad, although maybe once I get a replacement (as my v2 is delaminating and mushy) and put it on a proper undersuit it will fit better.

I'm going to fully suit up again Friday night to make sure everything works and lines up properly, and will get more pics with it all together.

Bad news for Saturday is the just updated the forecast and the weather is getting hotter. It's going to be about 80 now... just wearing this suit around the house last night for a while, when I unzipped and started taking it off, I could feel the heat waves rushing out. On a positive note, no sweat or moisture, so that's cool. I wore compression pants and long sleeve shirt underneath, which assisted greatly in getting it on and off. But I'll be in direct sun and at least 10 degrees warmer outside temp than my house... so I may need to figure out a makeshift cooling system. I'll have a cool moist neck wrap under the cowl, and LOTS of water bottles available just in case.

How embarrassing would it be to see the headline, "Batman Passes Out During Floral Parade!" on Sunday morning. emoticon

Keith... I'm now very seriously interested in one of your one piece babies. These shots convinced me neoprene is the way to go for the 89. Man you dont even need to add latex on the exposed parts! It already looks like its latexed! emoticon

Seriously, can you let me know what's it gonna take to obtain one before July? This way I can begin with preparations to hook you up. emoticon (would you like me to email you?)

I have a brand new coated spandex suit i was going to use to remount my urethane armor on..but after these pics...forget it. I want Kbillan's neoprene.

Its pure jazz.

Congrats Kreator! You look great in it! Man. Really awesome. =]

Re: Kreator '89 - All Glued Up!

Ok, it's now 3:30am and I have to be back in the whole dang thing in about 6 hours from now.... man, I hope I survive the day!

The room temp in the house is about 75, and I've had this suit on for over 3 hours. Getting it on by myself was a nightmare, and what I thought might be an impossible task, but I eventually did it. Once it was all on, and I could relax a bit, it was actually quite comfortable to wear. The undersuit is a tad tight, which gave me a little claustrophobia for a few minutes after the struggle to get zipped up with the limited flexibility. (Should take care of itself in the future as I continue to lose more weight though.)

Anyway, the only thing I didn't get done was using the awl (picked one up earlier this evening) to sew up boot tops on my Nike knock-offs... So for now, the leather boot armor is securely velcro'd to my Gotham 100s. They look pretty good actually, and nobody will really care or notice they're not perfect. I added them after taking the photos though, but oh well. I hope to have qutie a few after the parade.

Funny thing, I also found out they want me to not only do the parade, but also spend some time at the new GameStop, right in the heart of the Iris Festival (near the carnival rides, car show, beer garden, and concert area...) Meaning LOTS of people and kids to harass me. emoticon

Depending on how I feel after the 3 mile walk in the parade at 80 degrees in full sun, we'll see how it goes from there.

Ok, I better get some sleep --- Oh, ON TO THE PICS!

I took more, but don't have the energy to upload. These were my favorite two fo the bunch.

You'll also notice I was forced to trim the nose (aka snot shelf) and open it up kind of Alex Ross style. I didn't want to, and started just with nostril holes, but it wasn't working. It was either this, or die of suffocation and heat stroke. emoticon The problem, as I found by comparing my face to my Keaton life cast side by side... my nose is bigger that his, and as such when fit in the sculpted nose area, my eyes are up in the forehead a bit to much. If the eyes are aligned, my nose is wrenched back. Comfort won out over screen accuracy in this instance.

Ok, I must sleep at least a few hours... wish me luck!

A+-- you did a wonderful job on that. Be careful today!

Cutting the nose like that may have helped more than you could know. I dont think you will trap as much condensation from your breath... Its going to be hot, so be very cognizant of your body temp.. and hydration..

Re: Kreator '89 - All Glued Up! (Full Suit Pics pg 2)

I posted these at BOTB while The Cave was closed up, but wanted to put them here too.

It really was an awesome day, but grueling and extremely taxing on my body. Not only did I wear 30 lbs of black rubber over my whole body, I marched non stop for 2 miles in the direct sun... I was hot, but doing well for the first mile, but the second mile was devastating.

My only regret was not being able to pay so much attention to the people on the sidelines during the second half. But everyone LOVED me and the kids had a great time.

After the parade, I hung out in a dark room to cool off with a wet towel over my head for about a half hour until my change of clothes showed up and I could get out of the whole suit.

Then, I was back suited up within a couple hours doing appearances back at the comic shop and the local GameStop, and walking around the carnival area with a photographer and a couple handlers passing out charity fliers.

Slept all day Sunday, and totally sore. Couldn't get any sleep last night and was a bit nauseous throughout the evening so I had to call in to work -- finally got to sleep at 8am for a few hours and feeling better tonight.

What a weekend! As crazy and probably not so safe, it was worth it for the reactions of all the kids and seeing so many smiles.

And yes, while I didn't want to cut the nose off the cowl, it was completely necessary and probably saved me. Also drank several bottles of water along the parade route and afterwards. At the end of the day, I was suited up with cowl for over 8 hours... Can't wait to do it again, just without the heat. emoticon
