Mine had a bubble in it that wasn't visible until it was too late. I now have a small hole that needs to be filled with Aquaseal or some other type of urethane. I posted a pic of it over at the Brotherhood, but I don't know if you saw it or not. It's hard to describe in words, though, you'd have to see it. Sorry for the brief hijack. nondisclosed_email@example.com (aceofknaves88)Tue, 19 May 2009 19:11:37 +0000 Re: Inferno Neck questionhttps://bthecave.runboard.com/p1000,from=rss#post1000https://bthecave.runboard.com/p1000,from=rss#post1000quote:aceofknaves88 wrote: Well, I was mistaken, Justin. Not too much is needed, that cowl fits me almost perfectly! Love it.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Mr Justin)Tue, 19 May 2009 17:02:24 +0000 Re: Inferno Neck questionhttps://bthecave.runboard.com/p997,from=rss#post997https://bthecave.runboard.com/p997,from=rss#post997Well, I was mistaken, Justin. In the front, there are those horizontal ridges covering the throat area. I just trimmed along that. (It's not necessary, but I have a sensitive adams apple I guess -- I hate anything pressing on the front of my neck, and when I looked down, it put pressure there which bugs the heck out of me. ) Also, for wearing my '89 this past weekend, I went ahead and picked up a black compression shirt at Target, trimmed it back into flat fabric, and lined my Reevz '89 cowl. It really is the absolute BEST thing you can do for a cowl. On and off with ease. Here's a crappy pic, but at least you can kind of see what's going on. I simply used Loctite Super Glue Gel to tack it down around the edges, then left it loose inside. That way it can slide around easily to position it, and after you've worn it all day and it's covered in sweat, just hang the cowl up and let the liner hang loose outside the neck. Works great! This is looking at it right before pulling it on. Goes right on with no trouble at all.nondisclosed_email@example.com (The Kreator)Tue, 19 May 2009 13:25:09 +0000 Re: Inferno Neck questionhttps://bthecave.runboard.com/p994,from=rss#post994https://bthecave.runboard.com/p994,from=rss#post994quote:aceofknaves88 wrote: Oh, and Kreator, I'd like to see how you removed one of the segments at the front. I think Mr. Justin also did that and I've been wondering what exactly was done there. I actually never modded mine at all. I didn't want to mess with the neck because it just looks way too cool to change it haha. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Mr Justin)Tue, 19 May 2009 12:49:03 +0000 Re: Inferno Neck questionhttps://bthecave.runboard.com/p970,from=rss#post970https://bthecave.runboard.com/p970,from=rss#post970Oh, and Kreator, I'd like to see how you removed one of the segments at the front. I have an Inferno cowl as well and right now I use water to get the neck over my head. That works pretty well, but a liner might be nice.nondisclosed_email@example.com (aceofknaves88)Mon, 18 May 2009 21:19:38 +0000 Re: Inferno Neck questionhttps://bthecave.runboard.com/p905,from=rss#post905https://bthecave.runboard.com/p905,from=rss#post905Yea DONT force the dam thing guys. The lycra spandex lining is ideal, the plastic bag thing is just sloppy and not so realistic. Ive worked hard to make my suit as comfortable as possible to get on and wear. DEF put a lining in youll love it. If you dont want to glue one in just cut the fabric like i mentioned and hold it inpalce as you put the cowl on. you might have to shift the stuff around a bit after, it might get infront of the face and eyes at first, but just push it back. My first lining i put in my J beigns cowl. Given how flexable nd soft that cowl is too, its SOOO easy and comfortable to put on and wear. MY inferno bob cowl being a bit stifer is a little more difficutl, but the lining makes it possible. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Indakin)Thu, 14 May 2009 11:10:45 +0000 Re: Inferno Neck questionhttps://bthecave.runboard.com/p896,from=rss#post896https://bthecave.runboard.com/p896,from=rss#post896Thanks for all the input guys. When i posted this I had just tried maning (ie. to do something in a macho, masculine way) the darn thing on and really wrenched my neck. nondisclosed_email@example.com (KnowOne251)Thu, 14 May 2009 01:35:21 +0000 Re: Inferno Neck questionhttps://bthecave.runboard.com/p880,from=rss#post880https://bthecave.runboard.com/p880,from=rss#post880I keep meaning to do the lycra liner, as it's basically the same as the plastic bag method, only much nicer and more convenient. And less risk of asphyxiation. nondisclosed_email@example.com (The Kreator)Wed, 13 May 2009 13:19:28 +0000 Re: Inferno Neck questionhttps://bthecave.runboard.com/p873,from=rss#post873https://bthecave.runboard.com/p873,from=rss#post873LISTEN TO ME EVERYONE!!!!!!!!! I post this to everyone always and no one seems to remember. the BEST non messy way to put on a cowl is the following: Get a piece of Swimwear spandex fabric (just a bit thinner usually), black or whatever color you want! Cut a piece wide enough to wrap around the inside of the cowl neck openning, and have it long enough to hang into the cowl to at least past the neck openning a bit. Glue the fabric to the edge of the cowl neck openning only 1/2 at most is all you need. Trim any excess fabric away from the mouth or eye opennings that might get in your way. TADAAAAA now you have a slick lining in your cowl which allows you to pull the darn thing right onto your head without ripping out your scalp!!! lol I have done this to EVERY cowl i own. It is the BEST least messy way to get a cowl on and off your head. the spandex also can help add to the comfort too, because you wont feel that rubber of the cowl right against your skin. It will also absorb some of the sweat leaking out of your head from dripping as badley down your suit. I have 1 more cowl to line right now, so im going to make a dam tutorial already to show everyone so its stickied already for everyone to use. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Indakin)Wed, 13 May 2009 08:57:25 +0000 Re: Inferno Neck questionhttps://bthecave.runboard.com/p871,from=rss#post871https://bthecave.runboard.com/p871,from=rss#post871quote:dude you just got married I know right?! nondisclosed_email@example.com (Brin Londo)Wed, 13 May 2009 04:11:47 +0000 Re: Inferno Neck questionhttps://bthecave.runboard.com/p855,from=rss#post855https://bthecave.runboard.com/p855,from=rss#post855I removed one of the "segments" on the front of the neck which helped considerably. Plus, it really helps when wearing it and you need to tilt your head forward to look down. But rather than get all slimey with KY or look like Beetlejuice with baby powder all over -- try a plastic shopping bag. I just slit it into a big sheet, then line the neck piece with it, leaving it open slightly where my face goes. Then just pop it on your head like a hat, and pull down. The bag itself will slide really easily, so it's just a matter of controlling the stretch on the urethane to work your face through. Once on, just pull the bag out and you're good to go. This works especially well on cowls too. Now... getting the neck piece off is another issue. Personally, I just start tucking the plastic bag back in and line it again before pulling it off. Still can be a bit tricky, but not too bad.nondisclosed_email@example.com (The Kreator)Tue, 12 May 2009 12:38:59 +0000 Re: Inferno Neck questionhttps://bthecave.runboard.com/p853,from=rss#post853https://bthecave.runboard.com/p853,from=rss#post853dude you just got married lolnondisclosed_email@example.com (Mexicanbat)Tue, 12 May 2009 11:47:41 +0000 Re: Inferno Neck questionhttps://bthecave.runboard.com/p848,from=rss#post848https://bthecave.runboard.com/p848,from=rss#post848KY jelly...and I'm not even kidding.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Brin Londo)Tue, 12 May 2009 04:03:37 +0000 Re: Inferno Neck questionhttps://bthecave.runboard.com/p841,from=rss#post841https://bthecave.runboard.com/p841,from=rss#post841Baby Powder.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Mr Justin)Tue, 12 May 2009 01:40:06 +0000 Re: Inferno Neck questionhttps://bthecave.runboard.com/p840,from=rss#post840https://bthecave.runboard.com/p840,from=rss#post840just pull. think birth lolnondisclosed_email@example.com (Mexicanbat)Tue, 12 May 2009 00:27:41 +0000 Inferno Neck questionhttps://bthecave.runboard.com/p838,from=rss#post838https://bthecave.runboard.com/p838,from=rss#post838What is the best way to put the darn thing on?nondisclosed_email@example.com (KnowOne251)Tue, 12 May 2009 00:26:26 +0000
