Re: Spidey4fun's TDK Build Log.

I did a little more today. Kris came up with a really nice way of joining the arms and shoulder bell to the torso. So I spent the day making inner workings by copying one Kris loaned me. It holds everything in place and allows excellent range on motion for the arms.

Almost done with the torso!!

Brad I know you mentioned redoing the cowl with a better chin area that is a great idea and I think the only thing wrong with Kris's cowl. It does need to come in more.
The rest of the work you have done is fantastic I only wish I could upgrade mine but can't at the moment.

Here's some pics of mine. I recently altered the chin strap.

Before...

After...

I cut the chin right in the middle.. then cut another 8 to 10mm on each side.. removing about 16 to 20mm in total I guess. Then glued it up and glued a piece of fabric on the inside of the chin. So far I've pull the cowl over my head about 5 or 6 times and it's working great.

For those with Kris's cowl... it's an easy fix. I believe Kris will be redoing his mold so the chin strap is tighter for those thinking about getting one. This IS the cowl you need if you're planning on wearing it with an under hood.... unless your head is tiny... and you can fit into the other replicas around.

Yeah I have Kris's suit and the Cowl a little large in the chin but I like the overall look. I have just the regular black armor. No carbon fiber in mine. I have been trying to finish it for months. but not having the finances right now doesn't help. I had to make changes to my body suit with a zipper on the front didn't like it in the back. to hard to get into and out of. I made my pants separate too. With a zipper in the crotch area. I'm still trying to figure out my hood for my neck armor.

That cowl looks better.

Been thinking of doing the same with the cowl. Now I have comfort in knowing that someone else did it and all is good with the world. emoticon

I had also considered filling the gap with neoprene. That way it would stretch and form to your chin. Just not sure how comfortable that might be.

I got lucky my noble cowl from the bronze armory fits me perfect just had to line the top of the cowl with a bit of foam, I guess my head is not that big....but it also fits perfect on my display, i just shaved the ears off the manny head.

I glued the carbon parts in the abs section today... after a day at the beach with the family.. my boys first beach visit.

Image

I still need to do some grinding on the back of the abs section to bring down the thinkness.
