Re: Unused Batsuit Designs/Sculpts
The mini Sonar looks like Michael Keaton's face. I thought he was out long before they did the designs for the new suits. I like that one though, anything is better than those nips (it just looked like Batman was always cold...lol)

Re: Unused Batsuit Designs/Sculpts
Markus,
according to Eddie the Sonar was supposed to be multi colored with accents. not black or silver. From what he said they were running low on time at the end and the powers that be said "f it paint it silver"

Re: Unused Batsuit Designs/Sculpts
according to the painter (Mcfarlene) it was always black up till the last second, the one in Looney tunes was black, then silver, then black LOL sadly
the story changes a lot depending on who's telling it
since the final sonar on screen was silver in some shots and grey in others I can confirm that it was at least two completely different colors since I have pieces with both finished on them and they are miles apart from each other
and we now know they played with blue and silver colors on the returns suit but couldn't make it come together
so I say all the story's have 75% truth to them
I love that shot, where they are making fun of Jose's hair
I have another shot somewhere of Miles standing with both suits in the room, only he's standing with the robin and the sonar is in the same stage of sculpt
I'll dig it out...
Dullam said he once had shots of panther legs that never were, but he of course lost them, more than likely they were just early sculpts
also that second photo that shawn posted of the foam cowl sitting oddly was not sculpted by steve, steve told me recently that someone else did that one, they gave him that copy and had him sculpt the version you see in the first photo, the version he sculpted looks a little like it because they asked him to replicate it but change it slightly, then they made a dozen or so copies, and didn't use them for filming because they told him it looked to angry, then Jose sculpted the version we all know now

Re: Unused Batsuit Designs/Sculpts
I've always though that cowl was one of the four Dullam sculpted, but he's so absent minded he can't remember
take a photo of the inside of the cowl as that will be what tells you if it was batshop or bobshop. the batshop used a very particular core, powernetting and the cowls were amazingly dense foam.

Re: Unused Batsuit Designs/Sculpts
My post on page 1 is pretty old and since then I'm not that sure what the origin for that cowl is.
I think it's a very interesting piece though.

Re: Unused Batsuit Designs/Sculpts
the origin of that one is still a mystery
but its not likely a bob cowl because the neck
is to long
the photo that you pointed out looks funny because
that is not kilmer in the suit in that shot but one of the
promo shots taken with someone else in the suit, the suit is stunt also, they "photoshoped" kilmers face onto that one and two others
