Re: My new cowl
OK here we go
In this picture we se the cowls side by side. Look how The Sonar holds it's shape on its own (The right one)
Here you see the Thickness of the Hybrid cowl.
And the thickness of the sonar.
Suftness in the ears of the Hybrid (Its hard)
Softness of the sonar

Re: My new cowl
Danish. I dont think we have the same one. or I could be wrong. the nosde on mine was fine and the ears as well. but there where a lot of cracks and chips that I had to fill and sand, fill and sand, and fill and sand. and the tail on the back part of the cow was broken so I repaired that as well and then more sanding and sanding and painting and sanding. LOL

Re: My new cowl

wen you do the foam
do you brush it on or or do you core the mold and just inject it?
and what about the chest?
how wold you do that
and last question
if you do this on a cowl how hard is it to tear ?

Re: My new cowl
how I do the foam is a trade secret, just like my paint
and honestly, even if it wasn't I would not want to share it with you because that would be supporting you getting sales for recast pieces. Despite my hating what Janty did to you, me and everyone else, recasting is still the lowest form of flattery and is every prop makers worst nightmare.
Everyone creating anything new will now have to walk on eggshells around you worried that if they some how affend you that you will use that as an excuse to recast their work and as we see, recasting sees to be tolerated by more and more people now a days.
I'm old school and believe open recasting is wrong. If that's changed then I will have to change my opinion and start recasting anything I want to make money off of. Since I am already disliked by enough people as it is, well I don't see me trumping that by becoming a recastor. But hey I have nothing to loose right?
So why don't I just get one of everything and recast it!
To my knowledge and you may correct me if it is not the case, but the only mold you own rightfully is the BD Panther torso. The rest of the molds are from your vendeta against Janty, which at the time was justified by you, but that was a long time ago and you have more then profited from your efforts.
I know why people allow you to walk around even though you recast and I can't accept that as a good enough reason.
So are you willing to stop offering all of your pieces that come from recast molds or is the money just drowning out anything I'm saying to you?
Unless your giving up your recasting ways, then I have nothing more to say to you.

Re: My new cowl
what he told me was more then likely a lie or an embellishment to make his side of the story sound better, that's his SOP
I only recall that it was over a belt and a cod or a belt or a cod
unless he stiffed you for over a grand like he did the others and they aren't recasting him then I think you have gotten more then even with him for what he did to you
so it would be a good time to walk away from the recasting game, and not because I said so but because its the right thing to do
you try recasting for any reason no matter why on any of the professional prop boards and they will lynch you without a second thought! Recasting is so easy and it only does harm to the hobby and its people.
I got stiffed by him to for 750.00 worth of coin and props, but even then, I could not bring myself to his level in order to get even.
But then I'll be on the black list for the FX industry and it took me 7 years to get in as deep as I am with friends in every industry, every studio, and a bunch of high end collectors out there.
I stand by my feeling that as long as your recasting, your a risk to prop makers, regardless of your reasons for doing so, otherwise things just become a free for all and that attitude is what made me walk away from the boards several times.
I can't change how I feel and you can't change what you did based on how you felt, so it is what it is and we'll just have to agree to disagree.
