No worries Hector! I think it may have been a blessing in disguise. I was gonna order 2 gallons of the F-42. I don't think I could've used up 2 gallons before it all went bad. I'm sure you'll put it to good use emoticon

So, I ordered some Vyta-Flex 40 from Smooth-on. Can't wait to finish my new sculpt...It's coming along!

Re: Materials on Sale~

sounds like you talked to richard, he's a great guy

see what makes them the best place is not only do they have all the brands I love, but these guys also do a lot of FX work around town, so they know more then the average thing or two about most of the materials they sell

justin

to bad you missed out and went with SO instead, even though you missed the sale you should have still ordered BJB instead, better ingredients make a better pull~

but hey that's just IMHO

And what’s ten years? Well, it’s roughly how long it takes to put in ten thousand hours of hard practice. Ten thousand hours is the magic number of greatness.

I know. I'll definitely have to try the BJB when I run out of the S.O. I figure it's good for me now since I'm learning to run urethane. I'll hopefully have a good silicone mold with the Rebound-25 so I can eventually drop some BJB urethane in there someday soon.

I can't remember the guys name, but he was really friendly and was really into this art form. It's nice to talk to someone like that. No one around here that I've talked to can relate to what I'm doing, let alone give me information I don't already have on the subject.

It was cool hearing him talk about how everyone out there is running foam in this industry. Just kind of surreal to verbally hear it from someone, you know?

I ordered some F60 for a belt mold that I recently acquired. The F60 is a 50:100 mix ratio. I estimated (over estimated) that I would need about 30 ounces to make a belt so the mix ration would equal 10ounces to 20ounces.... correct? I mixed it up and poured it into the mold and let it sit overnight for about 12 hours. Checked it in the morning, and it had not cured. Sloppy mess! The only thing I can think i did wrong was measuring part A and part B? What else could it be? Help me figure this out!

I used Smooth On previously sucessfully, but it is a 1:1 mix ratio.

It depends on if it is 50/50 by weight, or by volume.

What belt are you making? with my V1 belt, it was 960g of material. 640g of part b, and 320g of part a...

dont know what mold you acquired though..

I figured it out...I just had a brain fart when weighing the two parts.

It's a silicone mold. Bob D. Panther belt that I acquired from Proximo. Thought it'd be good to learn the basics of casting urethanes with it.

LOL, I already cleaned it. Nasty, sloppy, gooey mess!

Just poured another belt after making sure my measurements were exact. Excited to see the results! Thanks for the help!
