Damn, that is smooth looking! The clay you've got mapped out around the base of the neck; those are keys for the mold, right? If so, is it for the silicone, or the fiberglass mothermold?

cheers, the keys are for both, the area clayed in was filled with silicone, when cured, the clay was removed and I glassed over the lot so the silicone is the positive and the fiberglass is the negative.

Silicone is more expensive than glass so I like to do my keys higher up and save some money

This is looking fantastic....

...I have one of Jeff's RD begins, and I love it, but what I like about this one that doesn't show up in his for some reason, is the lip on the edge of the neck of the cowl. I know it exists in the original, so it's great to see it remain in this !!

Really? You really like big lip. The lip on the front, do you mean the trim-line? That is a weird hang up to have bud. Had I known you like your lips real thick, it would have just been a matter of some extra urethane up there.

Worth noting most cowls try and blend seamless with the suit and cape, not have an awkward, giant separation point. To each his own I suppose, maybe you like big lip because it looks so good on your stand. emoticon

And yes folks, I am defending my BB cowl because it is f'n sick, and it is one of my babies :evilbat: . All that said, I am also in love with this thing Rich has been able to acquire for obvious reasons.

Not that I LIKE the big lip per say.....just that it is more accurate to the real suit. Part of their design I guess. I'm totally in love with my cowl. Best I'v ever had emoticon
