Re: Watchmen: Nite Owl

Jeff Thank you!

ResinSamurai, i am really sorry for the way i came of, i was being jerk. when i wrote what i wrote, i had no idea how much expierence you had under your belt and your points didn't really hit home with me, mainly because most the stuff you assumed wasn't true. i just felt like you underestimated the quality in which i work and even mold.

but in any case, i was just in a bad mood because of it and really didn't need to reply in the manner i did. i am sorry, because you really do have alot of expierence, which means you are talking from expierence. i will def take your advice when i go to mold this again. and yes, i am going to add the ear slots now, and i double checked the chin point. ill make sure its up to par. if you can point out any other details you think need sharpening, please let me know. I realized i am going to change the finish of it, but it will def make it more accurate. ill have new pics up tonight (late late) to show some progress.

You didn't come off as a jerk so don't worry about it.
Your passionate about your crap and I am passionate about mine.

No worries here! I only want this to be the best thing or better then hero so I can have an amazing piece in my collection. NO ROOM IN IT FOR CRAP~

When you have your new pics up I'll look them over tomorrow and see if anything stands out, so far its

the chin bevels could be sharpened slightly

the area that runs down the spin is not recessed. There is a little more then a 16th recession of that area below the rest. 3 out of the 4 lines that run around the base of the cowl cross over this area, the last one does not. Each of these lines has a slight back bevel to them to help them stand out stronger, these step down in procession. that recessed area is the same area that runs down the chest center line.

the center line that is runs over the top of the head
and down the back, is actual a rise point, not crisp but
in the same detail as the two lines that run down the back of the neck, its hard to explain.... have to think of how to phrase that better, but that is missing from yours as it might have been sanded down, its actually a tuff area but it is a key eye point that needs to be there, the best way I can think to describe it is almost..... football seam like

hard to tell but are your vent cuts or vcuts actually v's
because the lighting makes them look a little softer then V more like U's. The three in the top of the head and the ones on the side of the neck and in the full round collar should all be very very crisp V's, with the back (or the wide starting points) being a bevel from top to bottom. Not sure if I am explaining this right and without brighter lit photos I may be asking about something that's already perfect, cause the ones on the neck look really really good

I need to look over the heros again

also did you sculpt yours without an undernose??
the nose actually has a convex to it, its not a straight
angle

Everything else is just bitchen. And if you ask around, you would know that I rarely compliment anything since I only respect pieces that push the limits.
You don't need my approval just keep that in mind. ALL ABOUT YOU!

But if your willing to take this piece to the extremes, I promise you it will make a difference to you and everyone else.

And what’s ten years? Well, it’s roughly how long it takes to put in ten thousand hours of hard practice. Ten thousand hours is the magic number of greatness.

LOL, I have spent the last hour looking over the hero in comparison

I'm excited to see you finish this!

Here's a photoshop of what I was talking about with the neck.

Image

when you can, take straight on, well lit, front, side, side, and back photos so we can compare it to the hero

amazing work! this is a very tough design to pull off and you've got the look down .....was this going to be finished in urethane ( paintable BJB) or latex? I'm sure I speak for everyone when i say that this is quite impressive and look forward to seeing more
