We're discussing Oct or early Jan next year because everyone might not be able to make it. If the trip doesnt happen in Oct i can try to talk them into measuring the rings, but it might be hard to talk them into taking a pic of the inside if im not there in person. At one point im going there for a Pub marathon so in one way or another i should be able to get some pics and measurements unless someone else do so before me.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Proximo)Sun, 16 Aug 2009 16:06:28 +0000 Re: Begins cape/cowl rings: NEW PICS !!https://bthecave.runboard.com/p3946,from=rss#post3946https://bthecave.runboard.com/p3946,from=rss#post3946That's really cool Markus....yeah if they let you take photos of the inside. I'd really love to see them. nondisclosed_email@example.com (leiter22)Sun, 16 Aug 2009 15:44:38 +0000 Re: Begins cape/cowl rings: NEW PICS !!https://bthecave.runboard.com/p3944,from=rss#post3944https://bthecave.runboard.com/p3944,from=rss#post3944The cowl looks awesome, the rings and lining make a big diffrence even do its not seen when fully suited up. I might see one of the three screen used foam latex cowls in person in late Oct that WB sold, that is if its there when i visit. If its possible i will measure the rings, take close up pics of them and the inside of the cowl.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Proximo)Sun, 16 Aug 2009 15:31:45 +0000 Re: Begins cape/cowl rings: NEW PICS !!https://bthecave.runboard.com/p3943,from=rss#post3943https://bthecave.runboard.com/p3943,from=rss#post3943Without having access to the original, or a source for the rings, I think its pretty darn close. You're right though, maybe a bit off. I'd love to inlay the rang, but sadly, I don't have the woodworking tools or skills to do so. I heard there was multiple materials inside the cowl. Nylon based material, like you said, in the head, and felt in the neck to stick to the velcro on the suit. I opted for the wool felt throughout. Natural fibers are easier to adhere supposedly than synthetic. I'd love to have it completely accurate, but until I can find a pic of the actual interior, this will need to do. nondisclosed_email@example.com (leiter22)Sun, 16 Aug 2009 15:24:43 +0000 Re: Begins cape/cowl rings: NEW PICS !!https://bthecave.runboard.com/p3941,from=rss#post3941https://bthecave.runboard.com/p3941,from=rss#post3941rings are still a little to big compared to the studio rings but besides that it looks cool maybe inlay the rang into the wood base, wipe it down with acid to help it darken and rust so it looks like its been in the cave for a while finish on the cowl is killer instead of the wool lining, try a nylon based liner that's what they used on the studio piecesnondisclosed_email@example.com (resinsamurai)Sun, 16 Aug 2009 14:14:21 +0000 Re: Begins cape/cowl rings: NEW PICS !!https://bthecave.runboard.com/p3939,from=rss#post3939https://bthecave.runboard.com/p3939,from=rss#post3939Yes....RD it is in fact. Mine is a dullam urethane.. but the eyes, mouth and bottom were trimmed with scissors and looks jagged around those edges.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Batfanman)Sun, 16 Aug 2009 09:01:57 +0000 Re: Begins cape/cowl rings: NEW PICS !!https://bthecave.runboard.com/p3911,from=rss#post3911https://bthecave.runboard.com/p3911,from=rss#post3911I've gotta get me one of those! nondisclosed_email@example.com (Mr Justin)Sat, 15 Aug 2009 16:23:40 +0000 Re: Begins cape/cowl rings: NEW PICS !!https://bthecave.runboard.com/p3908,from=rss#post3908https://bthecave.runboard.com/p3908,from=rss#post3908My friend......Bravo! So here are some pics, inside and out. Sorry for the so-so quality. Didn't feel like messing w/ it too much. All in all, I'm pretty happy with it. Had a bit of a time adhering the wool. Used some superglue gel in key spots, and probably will have to continue reinforcing places if they come loose. nondisclosed_email@example.com (leiter22)Sat, 15 Aug 2009 14:05:29 +0000
