Re: Final Wearer. TDK style.

I think we all need to think about the big picture here... greed, may be legal, but it is what is crippling the worlds economy.

I have probably 150 undersuits out there... if someone wants to copy them, go for it.

I have had two or three production made undersuits here... nobody cares.

This is not a business, people.

BusIness or not it's still a good idea to show respect to the guy that put the pattern out there .

And just because you don't mind people recasting the pattern of your suits doesn't mean the same is right about the cape.

It's always best and a safest way to go about this is to ask

and I know what your going to say ,what if I recast you belt only to make several copies for myself would you like it and if I asked what would the answer be.

I've been asked if they could recast for there own collection and I've said no.

Jamie the same question can be asked about casting RD cowls RD suits that you offer the cape is part of that suit. Just because it's not a cowl doesn't mean it's ok to copy if some1 else has they put the time and hard work to getting that prop.

And if people are going to say recasting screen used or production props is bad this is the wrong board to do that as its what this board was built up on with what jeff was offering

And what ever your issues are with Clinton maybe it's best to talk to him about it.

I have one of the capes and they are great having the pattern is first for me and fabric is a very nice extra has there is fabrics that look close out there and if it was the fabric that was the big part of this why did Keith use the pattern ?

And that is the difference. Keith created his belt. 100 percent.
Kevin obtained a pattern. And reproduced a cape based upon that pattern. Kudos to him. Still don't care to copy it. It is not the most practical design for real world applications anyway. Just like 90 percent of what the studios put on screen.
It is the fact it was even put in the same category as "recasting" that all of a sudden made it a joke,
A lot more goes on behind the scenes as far as permission to recast a part for whatever reason as well. No one at this point is actively recasting people's pieces and offering them in the bat community. Kevin, myself, jester, Ed, Shawn all pretty much do our own thing. Not one of us cares to copy the other one. I give stuff to Ed and he gives stuff to me. Jester and I have swapped masters here and there as well.
If someone decides they want to copy Kevin's pattern then he can certainly speak up as to what HE thinks about it.
Again the appeal of that cape is the material. I am looking to obtain that material as well but is that gonna make me a recaster?
No just like using the same urethane as Shawn uses doesn't make me one either.

You understand what I'm saying you just keep bring fabric to the front the fabric means nothing without the pattern of a screen used cape.

It doesn't have to be a cowl to be recast you understand this Jamie you have been around a while and know this.

Actually, I have a completely different view on this even about my own pieces.

If someone out there has one of my belts and wants another and as long as it is for themselves...... dude.. make a mold. If you have the skill and tech to do it, why pay me? It's not for selling to others.. I don't care. It would be insane to pay what I paid for a new set of parts for every TDK suit I have made and THROWN away and the two I did sell, mind you, just the stuff mounted to the undersuit, I have kris 2/3 of the money.. AND sent the buyer to home for the parts to complete it. If that is frowned on... ahh well.

and just to put in into perspective.. what continent do you think the reference for the leather suits came from?

Every piece that I wanted more than one of I absolutely made my own copies of. But in actuality, that has only been a couple of items.

I sent Drftfan a set of accessories at one point in trade for something else and flat out told him, if he wants more..make more. Just don't sell them.

why did I use the pattern... well, at the time, it seemed like the thing to do. We had a cape here... looked neat.. again, the material was not for me..I mean, my dispalays will have full size capes.. so I guess that was why?. Then I actually wore the thing.. in fact, right there in my avatar is the same cape at full size.. never crossed my mind that copying the form of the cape would be frowned on??Its just a cape.

By the way it is still kinda early here so I am crankier than normal lol. Especially cause of my lovely dog waking me up at 3 am to pee and having to go outside with her in the snow and the cold. You can completly take what I am saying with a grain of salt. I am probably venting a little here.
Also one more thing. I sent two emails when Kevin finally revealed their begins. One to Kevin and one to Clinton congratulating them. Believe me there isn't any bad blood on my side.

Thats up to you if your not liking botb why not talk to jeff about you and Keith taking over the cave cause it looks like he doesn't want it anymore.

I've been wanting a begins suit for around 5 years and non have made me want to jump up and say yes I want until kevs begins suit.i have found with kevs and clintons props Clinton as a very good eye for detail and that shows with his work

we will all think different things and like different props and agree or dis agree on many things. This here is one of them time when we will disagree
