Great ideas here, guys.
and I love the Bermejo cowl too, but I believe the contest is for us to design our own cowls?
hopefully that doesnt come across in a negative manner, I'd just like to see somethings we havent seen yet.

If you look at the cowl that I drew, it is quite a bit different from the Bermejo cowl. The Bermejo cowl is the main influence, but I took my liberties. It's still a work in progress

Hey, bud... I know I mentioned that I love the Bermejo cowl, but that comment wasnt directly for you. I meant it as a public comment. I was just hoping to stear clear of artist renditions due to the nature of the contest. Hope that clears it up. Not that its my contest, but I didnt want to see a favorite artist cowl contest

Oh I know...didn't take it negatively or anything! I would like to see the best overall cowl win the contest, whether it be artist influenced, movie influenced, etc. Everything is going to be influenced by something, it's hard to be 100% original since a lot has been done with this character! Let the best cowl win!

Hahaha, very good points. Even if its something completely original, there are going to be details that look similar enough to someone's rendition at some point over the last 70+ years.
That being the case, I've got one more page (2 more cowl designs) and I'll let more folks chime in with entires. Been a slow day at work and had a chance to sketch a bit. Unfortunately, I dont have a scanner here at work, but if anyone can receive faxes, and can post it up, I'd be more than willing to fax it.

here's two I came up with while at work one is just a different take on a classic cowl and the other I added fangs to the cowl making it more bat like. let me know what ya think.

hi all.
Im currently in spain on a little holiday but i thought id just drop in and have a looksee.
some good stuff coming through guys.
PunisherNC is right, the whole point is to design your own cowl, not point to a comic and go "that one". This isnt aimed at anyone but maybe i should have been clearer to start with.
Its a unique opportunity for YOU to get what YOU think looks right, not what a paid comic book artist does, I think you guys will put more effort into it as you all have a genuine love for the character.
