custom 89 cape harness
Hey all.
I just want to share my idea on this whole cape harness thing.
As we all know the base plate of this harness was attached to a leotard which Keaton wore under the suit.
As my suit wont be used for fighting crime I decided to mount my base plate directly to the back of the torso which I have glued down using super glue gel.
I have used chicago screws and glued the female ends to that plate which now poke through the front of the torso as you can see in the pics.
Im still yet to drill the holes which get attached to the cape and the emblem then sits on that.
Just wanted to share my thoughts with you guys and see what you all think.
Thanks

Re: custom 89 cape harness
The only thing I'd be worried about is stress on the suit from where the screws are poking through. Even if its just on display it seems like there may be some wear and tear in that location due to the weight of the emblem and the cape.

Re: custom 89 cape harness
Sylar I got the plates made from a sheet metal place near me...they are made from 3mm aluminium and cost me $40.00 to get made up...alot cheaper than the real ones and they'll still do the same thing.
Silentknight229 I thank you for your input as I was thinking that same thing at the time I was doing it but I then put my cape on and all the weight is distributed to the shoulders and yes this will be mainly for display purposes only.
Once Ive finished glueing all the edging of my armor I will attempt to mount these brackets to the cape and will go from there. If it seems to be a problem straight away then I have no idea what I will do as the plate is securely glued to the torso already...I have faith that this will work seeing as I will not be fighting crime in this suit...lol

Re: custom 89 cape harness
Nice stuff Batwog! I love it when guys go the extra effort to mod their existing pieces. Did the back plate you glued to the back of the armor come from the same metal fab place?
