Re: NEW 89 Cowl... the Real Deal
and finally, if anyone is sitting there thinking "Paul's (Paul being probably the guy who has studied the 89 cowl more than anyone with maybe the exception of Shawn), version didn't have ears that thin and curved, did they?". Well again, judge for yourself:
Paul's:

Re: NEW 89 Cowl... the Real Deal
go wash the sand out of your vagina's~
whats the dent in the camera right shoulder scallop? was it from an steam bubble? based on that this could have been the same cowl he used for his master??
the black and white make the ears look wider
and the tooling marks shows like crazy
as for the master
PJ, brotherman WHAT HAPPEN??? where the
shoulders in that buck?
the sides of your ears have a very pantherishlook to them never noticed the similarities before
that damaged shot is one of the ones I'm thinking of
where the ears are thicker, taller and meaner looking
the other side profile shot is when is is holding Jack up
in the face area your version looks more the version that Steve did for Returns

Look at the b&w studio shot below, it has the same "dent"
No sandy vag here, come to think of it...haven't seen any vag in a while having a wife almost 8m prego....thanks for reminding me.
Maybe my wife would think the Steve Wang version looks the same, but to me it is a totally different cowl:

Re: NEW 89 Cowl... the Real Deal
I'll be sure to tell him you said that~ :biglol:
The face on yours has been smoothed out like
what they asked Steve to do. The only real difference
between the SW cowl and the original is the changes to the brow and the smooth texture, there is another cowl out there done by whats her name that still has the texture and the brow is not as mean
I may not be a keaton expert but based on photos
there are some differences, lots if you line up all the different pulls of the original cowl, more than ay other cowl after the 89
that's what I said, based on the B&W pic that dent
could identify the master PJ got that you now have
based on the damaged suit devil cowl, the ear line dips
on yours are higher than in that shot, by maybe 1/2
your sheen seems more returns than 89 to this bat
one thin coat of plasti dip would give it that early than anything thick foam latex bunt cake look it had on screen

Re: NEW 89 Cowl... the Real Deal
I dunno man, the thing looks just like what I see on film and in pics to me, the face and gradually on head is supposed to be relatively smooth....check the first pic again, maybe the lighting is throwing you off.
I'm at that point where arguing with you anymore is taking away from the thread and the piece, so thanks for your opinions, I still guarantee it is a real 89 cowl, it is kick-ass, and I challenge you or anyone else to get your hands on and make a better replica, because if you do, I want one.
At present time, this is as good as it gets.

Re: NEW 89 Cowl... the Real Deal
I think it looks great. The only thing I'd keep in mind when making copies, is to keep this baby matte. Not glossy/shiny.
What I love about Jeff's and X's remastering is the fixed nose bridge and both sides of the cheeks are now nice and flat against the human face (not pictured). The ears are an improvement as well. This is really good stuff. I definitely want to grab a urethane copy soon.
You know, for every scene in the movie, the cowl looked a little different for whatever reason. The cowl itself was never really in perfect shape which helped make Batman look raw and beastly.
Unlike the Returns cowl which looked pretty much the same in every scene.
This is why I love the 89. Its just weirder looking and bad ass.
I think this is a win for you guys. Great job!
PS. Can we get a pic with someone wearing it???? I'd love to see a face in it.

Re: NEW 89 Cowl... the Real Deal
its not arguing its a discussion
here is what I see between whats in my eye versus what you have there, its the ears that to me are what is the main difference
the ears in the two 89 suits that I have been nose to nose with had solid foam ears, no ear cores, that means the foam is thickest at this part of the cowl and therefore will shrink first and shrink the most

Re: NEW 89 Cowl... the Real Deal
Nar I couldn't agree with you more. It truly is a thing of beauty. The 89 is and always will be the best of all the batman suits.

Re: NEW 89 Cowl... the Real Deal
Hahahaha,
sorry guys but the last post from Batwog89 brought the laugh into my face that will not go for a long time.
I did not know that he got a 89 expert so fast that he realy thinks to speak against Jay with all his knowledge.
Jeff you realy did a nice job on restoring that cowl and I was also a proud owner of one of Pauls RD 89.
Greetings Guido
