TDK Armor MK2:

Cowl has been started. Sculpting a mask is really really fun!

Day-8: Trying to get the ears right. Took the cheek bones down a little to lessen the width of the cowl. Trying to etch out some details. Still very rough.

Day-4: Got the other ear up. Trying to get the symmetry on both sides of the mask. Talk about tedious!!! I have soo much more respect for you guys who do great quality masks. The attention to detail is crazy! Still need to detail the brow...

Day-2: Took this pic and worked on it some more. The ear actually looks a LOT better now, but is no where near completion. Started sculpting out those neat lines that give the cowl a "cranial" look. Took the nose down some too (too big). Sorry for the crummy cell phone pic...

Hey guys, some of you might remember my original sculpt for TDK armor I made last year. I'm going at it again, but going for a much more screen accurate look this time around. Let me know what you think! emoticon

Still got a LOT of work to do, no doubt. I'm still tooling the left side and working out the kinks. I'm using water based clay too, which can be a !@#$! Trying to make this one smooth as glass and pretty screen accurate.

Great start on both things man! Yeah making a cowl is fun but getting the fine details and smoothing done is exhausting, but all worth it in the end.

Someone on the BOTB suggested making a master of the chest, its a good idea and something Id add to that is take the bat off, then make your master, sand it smooth as you want, then add the bat again.

Seems like a lot of work but its all in the details.

That is a great idea actually! I may have to do that. Thanks for the compliment. I can already tell that smoothing the cowl is gonna suck!
