Re: FINALLY MOUNTED MY INFRNO V3 TORSO (New pic 12/13) !!!!

LOL...

...it's kinda like a "shimmy" move. Torso's not that hard to take off because it zips in the back. Just unzip it, and have someone gently shimmy, holding the armor, starting from the shoulders down. As the undersuit begins to bunch, move down to the forearms, and back and forth until it's off. Same deal w/ the legs....shimmy from the thighs down.

Patience grasshoppa....LOL.

I just mounted the clips, and took a few shots in the house. Not going to show those, but in the next few months I will be shooting in the studio, and those images I WILL show.

My mannequin is coming next week, and I'll be documenting my display build, so hopefully those pics will tide you over emoticon Starting with a simple, white, faceless mannequin w/ my basic build, then I'm swapping out the head for a bale face cast, repositioning the arms and legs a bit to reflect the bale life cast pose, casting my own hands to replace the oddly small and disproportional mannequin hands....etc, etc.

Re: FINALLY MOUNTED MY INFRNO V3 TORSO (New pic 12/13) !!!!

Wasn't easy....

....I made a duct tape torso of myself first. Basically, have someone wrap your upper half in duct tape (over a compression shirt of course). Have them do it as tight as is bearable, and have your arms kind of spread out (see the pics for how this looks). do about 3 layers of tape. Then have the person cut you out of it....one cut all the way up the back, and a slit on each forearm. Just like an undersuit. Take it off, re-tape the seams, and fill with something like news paper, polyfill, whatever you have access too. Don't stuff it too tight, or it will be too big, because duct tape does stretch a tad.

O.k. now you have your mannequin......so put the undersuit top on this, and then place the armor on it....I messed with positioning MANY times before I was ready to actually glue i down. Once you're ready, and have your plan of attack for the process, get your gorilla glue super glue if you're mounting smooth-on urethane (NOT the regular gorilla glue, but the super glue variety) and start glueing!! You don't need to glue the entire surface, just a couple inches in along the edges.

Hope this helps!

Cheers!

P.S. I actually kind of enjoy doing this, so if anyone wants help mounting, they can send the armor and undersuit to me, but it will be mounted on my dummy.
