Undersuit glueing...anyone used Aquaseal before?

Sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum. Didn't know if it should go here or in the How'd They Do That forum.
So I have still been fighting with myself on what glue to use. I have tried a couple of different types but I am still not sure which one I like best.

After thinking about it I decided to email Smooth-On and see what they would suggest, since they create a lot of the urethane that is used in these suits, and they recommended a product called Aquaseal. Has anyone used this before, and if so, what did you think of it?

Thanks!

they recommended this for glueing their urethane down to neoprene or to clothe?

I've used this product to repair patch my vinyl pool liner long long ago, and I was impressed that its a moisture cure, but this would shock me if it could bond urethane to neo. Without a solvent cure there is no chance of it biting into the urethane and neo properly

cloth is a different matter

the best glue for both is WELDWOOD hands down no other glue can work as well from my experiance

Thanks for the reply.
I tried to be as specific as possible when I asked them. I told them I was going to be gluing urethane (probably their brand but I wasn't sure which one or shore) to a neoprene undersuit and that is what that came back with. I did some searching on this board and the BotB, but it looked like it was being used for repair like you mentioned, more so than for attaching. Being the suit I got from Jeff, I really really do not want to mess it up by using a sub par or inappropriate adhesive. I tried a model glue/super glue which seems to be holding well, but it dried hard and I was worried about the long term hold on it.

Does the Weldwood have any flex to it, or does it dry hard as well?

Thanks again for the advice.

Weldwood is super flexible....it's a rubber cement, but I've found it doesn't hold very well to urethane....If you prep the urethane surface by "roughing" it up VERY well, it may do the trick. Jay knows better than I on this matter though. I've found that the only thing that'll work is superglue. I used gorilla glue brand. It still cures a bit hard, but has much more flex and movement than your standard superglue

Thanks for the reply leiter. I think I have thought about it too much and now I am paranoid because I dont want to mess up the suit I got from Jeff. Did you have any problems with the Gorilla glue getting on parts you didn't want it to? The last time I used Gorilla glue it seemed like everything it touched, that I wasn't trying to glue, go destroyed.

you don't want to get the original gorilla glue....this stuff is super glue...just gorilla glue brand. Still, you don't want to get it on a surface you don't want it on.

I used Aquaseal for the parts of my Begins suit that kept wanting to separate. Held up so well it was almost maintenance free. My top choice for urethane to neoprene gluing when it needs to be strong.
