Re: Rare Batman 1989 Pics

let me put it this way... if it's on the net, I've seen it

basically what I'm looking for is what people have NOT shown online somewhere

and for the record, I have shared plenty.

Shawn has shared more than anyone on any of the boards.
So its up to everyone else to dig deep into their folders to find the things that maybe even Shawn doesn't already have

All of these so far Woland, have been on the net for a long time, accept that one of Jack standing with the two goons, thats a new one for me. But the rest can be found on batman unmasked and a few other sites

And what’s ten years? Well, it’s roughly how long it takes to put in ten thousand hours of hard practice. Ten thousand hours is the magic number of greatness.

the pic of Jack with the goons can be found on Richard Strange's website ( he was the tall skinny goon)

Man, oh man.

First, let me just state that I found this place thanks to Superherohype. I don't post there, but I've been a long time lurker.

I saw your pics reevz and I'm just blown away. Thank you. I thought I've "seen it all" when it has come to Batman '89 but not with these "new" pics.

I had absolutely NO idea that they filmed that Knox scene where Batman swoops down after the Joker falls and throws the cape and cowl on an unconscious Alexander Knox. I remember as a kid seeing that in the official comic adaptation and wondering what happened to it in the film.

All these years I just assumed it was never filmed, but nope it was! If memory serves, I also recognize that shot you posted of Vicki and Batman in the Batmobile. They used that EXACT image in the comic adaptation. She's says something to the the likes of "this is kidnapping" and Batman says "looks like it". I can't believe it.

That Knox pic though, man, they had to have filmed that scene. All these years I thought the artists and writers just included that scene in the comic because of the script, but nope, there's a pic of the action.

I'd be ecstatic if Warner Bros included that scene, as well as others in a DVD or Blu Ray set some day. The "is it Halloween scene" was good but I expected more, now I know there's more.

Thanks reevz and PJ, this is just fantastic. Over the years I've tried to save as much material as I could so it's good to see others have archived this stuff. If you two have anymore or any links to archives I'd be very grateful. I know there are a few pics in particular that I've been looking for but can't find, specifically Joker.

DiFabio,
great point, wow i never thought about that when i looked at those pics...i too remember the halloween scene (i overlooked that pic of knox) and the kidnapping scenes from the movie comic...i wonder what else in that comic were inspired by actual pictures (never seen). perhaps there's more to the comic than we thought? i'm going to have to look at it again, i have a copy in my office...

I think I remember seeing a shot of Batman with the flag in front of the Flugelheim way back in 89 when Rolling Stone or some other magazine was talking about the movie.

Well I know what they are but the problem is finding better resolution pics of them. I've pretty much identified and found them online but the quality and dimensions are pretty bad and small.

I'm a big fan of Kenner's 1990 Batman: The Dark Knight Collection line for the '89 film. I pretty much own everything they've ever produced. There's a certain piece they made that was never produced, a prototype. It was the original Wayne Manor/Batcave command center. I'm sure most of you are familiar with it.

Well it was eventually made, but for Batman Returns, BTAS and other Batman films everything but '89. For a toy it was as accurate as you could get,

I've tried making my own with existing playsets (it'd be a simple repaint and decal job. Making the screens, making the back Axis Chemicals etc.) but as you can see I need to make a set of labels/decals for the computer console screens.

Here's what I've come up with so far, some of them ranging from online pics, magazines and the Topps cards,

The first one is easy, it's all over the place,

Image

This one is relatively simple to find also,

But then the problem that arises is the Smylex commercial Beach photos. I know there's a few online, specifically from that poster but they're pretty low grade. It seems there's two of them, but I can only find one. Notice how close the smylex container is to his head? It's not like that regular one with the seagull.

Then there's this one from The Joker's opening scene with Grissom. I found it on a topps card that I scanned, but I'm not happy with the quality.
