Bob,
What am I seeing on the paint job there? It's splotchy or uneven in the pictures. Is that intentional?

I think it is just after he washed it. Every car air dries in sections, making it look like it has spots. On the Popular Mechanics shoot, it is just the light coming through the trees emoticon

Almost looks like a Black- Stealth- Camouflage type paint job. Maybe that is how it was done for the film, but didn't show on screen.

Re: Ready for the Popular mechanics shoot

paint was still partially dry. I had less than 24hrs to try to get it looking as good as I could for the shoot. I had finished the anit-sway bar(thing that looks like guns pointing over the front fenders). Those were a !@#$. that was made of steel rod bent with extreme accuracy with a ctlylene torch. then each side has a shaft that had to be drilled and tapped, so each end could have a helms joint screwed in. then I had to make box holder for each side to hold the anti-sway bar in place.
Then I had to pain the entire car. The paint is a 24hr epoxy paint made for steel. The paint looks great, just wish I'd had a couple more days.
So now everything externall is done except for the passenger side lower air intake air foil, and a rack that sits on the back of the hatch. whew.... this is a massive project make no mistake. I just heat wrapped the headers.

Bob you need to take some video of this baby sometime actually running, or rolling down the street.

Especially when I see the close-ups, I am blown away time and again with the

SHEER
UTTER
PRECISION
and
DENSITY

of the details on this car.

Mind-blowing.
