Help with a cape pattern??

Hello all, I'm new here and I need some help. I was given five yards of the most wonderful unique fabric to make a comic style cape. It's deep navy blue, has a slight stretch, and it's somewhat shiny like polished cotton on one side with a subtle leather print. It's amazing but I don't know what kind of material it is or where I can find more. So I have to work with what I have.

Does anyone know how I can make a good flowing cape with five yards? I'm 6ft tall, so if I just drape the fabric over my shoulders it becomes much too short and stops mid calf.

If anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!!

This might be difficult, but you should be able to get the general look you want and make it long enough as well. The main thing is obviously to conserve as much fabric as possible.

Once you get a general pattern cut out, try using the excess fabric to add to the top portion of the cape to give it more length. Like the cape in Batman Begins. There's enough material at the top to give it a "V" in the back right behind the cowl. This could help you with the length. It's hard for me to put into words, so I hope someone more experianced can chime in and help you out.

Good luck with it, and have fun.
