Nice stuff! I also like how the nose on that cowl kind of points downwards a little bit instead of upwards like others. Definitely looks like the movie version.

I hate these kinds of threads, but I have to point out that the reference cowl Janty sent me he pulled in some stuff called "dragonskin" (smoothon product). Imagine a cowl made of a heavy dish towel soaked in water, and that was it. I couldn't get much use out of it for reference, you couldn't prop it on anything, it held no shape at all, just sagged like a wet towel. I threw it out shortly after getting it. I have never been a fan of super soft urethane.
Also, you have to remember that any hard copy of any suit you get was sculpted to compensate the shrinkage of foam. Generally shrinks 5% of the contained mass, i.e. ears may go down more proportionally than the side of the face. Also brand of curing agent affects amount of shrinkage. And often each piece of foam can shrink slightly different than the next, depending on HOW DENSE THE FOAM WAS RAN. IE THE WHIPPING CYCLE.

  Here was my main reference:

I think he was refering to this, just to clear up, dragonskin is a shore 10 silicone, not a urethane, just so you know.

or never been a fan of super soft silicone, and I should clearify for costumes, unless the super soft urethane, or silicone is a thin skin backed up with something ridgid. Or self-supporting in some way. A mask that size done as a skin in a shore between 10 -20 will sag and bag, and feel like lead. Almost gooey. And grueling to wear. It will hang on you. The only exception is if you are going to do a burn scene in a costume, then you want silicone, because urethane has petroleum by-products, and foam latex has sulphur. Both are flamable. harder to douse the flames once the director yells "cut". The stuff that is intended to burn is brushed on the suit, the suit itself should NOT be for burning.
I think dragonskin was intended as a life-like skin for amatronic puppets. which is to say you have an underskull. You can move the jaw open and closed etc.. punch hair, etc.
