In the process of adding cape rings and a liner to my urethane begins cowl, I accidentally got a bit of superglue on it, which messed the finish up a bit. Would it be possible to touch up small spots with that process, or would it be necessary to finish the entire cowl ?? nondisclosed_email@example.com (leiter22)Fri, 11 Sep 2009 17:44:09 +0000 Re: Photoshop.https://bthecave.runboard.com/p4840,from=rss#post4840https://bthecave.runboard.com/p4840,from=rss#post4840Theoretically..... Yes But getting me to do it is the ruff part, plus I'm not exactly cheap, so painting armor will not be a 50.00 thing because the shipping to and from is going to be 100.00 by itself, then there is my prep and finish fee. And you need to realize that your armor an under suit will not exactly match as they do there. What that photo shows you is armor that was glued down to our under suit then it and the under suit were painted as one. That is the only way it will look right, otherwise you will have tone issues where the suit in some lights will appear to be the same, an in other lights it will be clear that armor and under suit are not the same. The only way to make a suit look that good or better because my skills have improved is to do it fully assembled. Soft fins are a must to keep from poking someone by accident since this is an appearance suit. If this was my suit those fins would be made from epoxy so they would be tuff as steel.nondisclosed_email@example.com (resinsamurai)Fri, 11 Sep 2009 16:49:26 +0000 Re: Photoshop.https://bthecave.runboard.com/p4838,from=rss#post4838https://bthecave.runboard.com/p4838,from=rss#post4838Hey if I sent you a JC F42 Sonar, could you do a paint job on it? So we only knew it as silver until the WB Looney Toons movie came out and we saw a repainted silver suit back in black and then you knew it looked soooooooooooooooooo much better in black. So yes, its simply a black sonar, and I didn't want to call it Black Sonar so I came up with the name Dark Echo, hehe cheesy but it works. This one pictured was made from F60 skinned F42 because the morron with the molds was having all kinds of issues with running something in only 42 that would cure. So this is much more stiff then it needs to be because of those first 2 layers of 60. It was originally put together and painted by me I think 3 years ago, the bodysuit was made by Gabriel, the cape was made by me, the cowl was made by me, and if your paying attention to the other thread about the sonar cowl you'll see why the ears aren't straight. An accident happened that caused the suit to be repainted after he got it from me, but it didn't ruin the look so its ok. Here is what it looked like when it left me. Please ignore the wrong belt sitting on it, I didn't have the sonar belt handy at the time of this photo shoot. This is another great example of if I knew then what I know now, I could have made this look even better like how I finished the Clooney. But three years ago I was barely getting into the things that I am old hat at now. I also did a Silver version of this suit about 6 months after this, in a specialized titanium like coloring. It came out well but the suits look best in black to me. Indicative of the character. And yes I realize in saying that, that I just posted a blue black suit, but that's actually not that far off from the color they like to use in the comics, LOL so no discount there. nondisclosed_email@example.com (resinsamurai)Fri, 11 Sep 2009 13:45:09 +0000 Re: Photoshop.https://bthecave.runboard.com/p4828,from=rss#post4828https://bthecave.runboard.com/p4828,from=rss#post4828Well, back on topic, what differentiates this suit form any other Sonar? Is it simply a black Sonar? Or were there any tweaks? Also, what material was it made in, foam latex? That point of the chest is a main flex point when you are getting into and out of the chest, one arm at a time with the weight of torso leaning forward as you pull up the arms onto you. Especially when the rubber is run thick as it was in that torso. Couple that with the fact that this suit sees more wear then just about any suit I have ever seen presented on any board (except for Dragonfyre Mike who holds the record for more suit wear then anyone ever. When you wear these instead of just display them they are going to show that, no matter how much effort you put into taking care of them. No finish product in the world will hide wrinkles or cracks from flex and compression wear. If you knew more about these materials then you would not make the comments that you did. If you did you would know that if your tore that suit up into 50 different pieces, the finish would still be on each of the 50 pieces. LOL, you can run my finished pieces threw a washing machine and the finish would still be there even after a second rinse and spin! but maybe not after the starching and dryer cycles! LMAO Its obvious by your comments that your trying :stick: me and my work. Don't bother. It makes no difference to me what you think of my work nor any pot shots that you are trying to take. You want to :stick: me, then trying making something that is better instead of wasting your energies on posting your little comments.nondisclosed_email@example.com (resinsamurai)Thu, 10 Sep 2009 00:25:26 +0000 Re: Photoshop.https://bthecave.runboard.com/p4682,from=rss#post4682https://bthecave.runboard.com/p4682,from=rss#post4682well you can hardly see them in this pic of the suit but in others of the same suit you can see them between the tail of the bat and the abbs but i kip forgetting you are perfect bro sorry my bad nondisclosed_email@example.com (Mexicanbat)Sat, 05 Sep 2009 17:58:57 +0000 Re: Photoshop.https://bthecave.runboard.com/p4654,from=rss#post4654https://bthecave.runboard.com/p4654,from=rss#post4654yes thats the one I painted don't confuse wrinkles for cracks my paint can't crack, its low shore rubber it can only wrinkle, tear, or be friction rubbed off after long periods of wear and tear there are several flaws in that suit from a foaming accident, and despite the flawless paint job, several flaws from the master mold. In the super high res photos you might be able to see some of that that. wear do you think you see "cracks"nondisclosed_email@example.com (resinsamurai)Fri, 04 Sep 2009 01:24:48 +0000 Re: Photoshop.https://bthecave.runboard.com/p4589,from=rss#post4589https://bthecave.runboard.com/p4589,from=rss#post4589yea i love that suit but is that the one resinsamurai painted because it is cracking well i mean the paint is cracking but the suit look great nondisclosed_email@example.com (Mexicanbat)Wed, 02 Sep 2009 19:48:02 +0000 Re: Photoshop.https://bthecave.runboard.com/p4550,from=rss#post4550https://bthecave.runboard.com/p4550,from=rss#post4550Yeah one of the best suits i evers seen, true movie grade! nondisclosed_email@example.com (Danish Bat)Wed, 02 Sep 2009 02:51:22 +0000 Re: Photoshop.https://bthecave.runboard.com/p4547,from=rss#post4547https://bthecave.runboard.com/p4547,from=rss#post4547who cares if that's Carlos!
