Hollywood Collectibles Sonar Cowl

Who will pop it first? We all know it's inevitable.

Re: Hollywood Collectibles Sonar Cowl
Who would want to? You know how many times in the last 5 years I had someone inquire about a Clooney style sonar cowl? Once.
I rarely make anything Clooney at this point much less one of the ugliest cowls ever.
I am probably going to buy the cowl for a display piece and a decent reference for the back piece. I am sure though you will have a few makers popping it. There is a maker who popped bobs first begins cowl from the recaster in Thailand. I at least obtained permission from bob before ever thinking about it 5 years ago.
Someone is selling the toynami returns cowl. They couldn't even bother to cut the emblem pad off.
Yes you are right it is inevitable. But I would love to see the quick and easy makers recreate the color without the right powders or the silver sections. Good luck...

Re: Hollywood Collectibles Sonar Cowl
The sad part is, the thing isn't even made from the movie molds. It's a whole new sculpt with an original used for reference.
Their description of the cowl was very vague, so I e-mailed Hollywood Collectibles about the cowls origins. This is the exact e-mail Colin Bowman sent me:
"It was referenced from a screen used one."
No more. No less, other than a "Regards, CB".

Re: Hollywood Collectibles Sonar Cowl
It could have been better than it is. They scanned a screen used cowl and 3D printed it, but they bodyshopped several areas (probably on purpose) so it's no longer accurate.

Is it even rubber? Or is it fiberglass? They're horrible for putting up details for just what you're getting.

Re: Hollywood Collectibles Sonar Cowl
So they're doing them like the Toynami cowl. It's a pass for me.
