Re: Final Wearer. TDK style.
Keith maybe it was that high because you bought 2 pair right? So about 200 each.

Re: Final Wearer. TDK style.
Yah.. the more I stew about it.. I think they may have been 198.00/pr for starters... perhaps my total bill was 396.00 plus the $80 gloves which are only marginally better than the ones I had that I sold for $40.
And the gaunts are tucked in because of the size of the gaunt. Nothing more. I'll try it the other way.
The cape is more matte looking than my begins setup.. which is a velvet. Couple reasons, first and foremost, the begs cape cost nearly $300 to make in that material. This one flaps nicer, but I do agree, it does suck the light up. In person it is just as black.. maybe I'll shoot a pic comparison.
And finally-- flash.. yah.. I agree. BUT, if you look at the studio shots of TDK or even the ones in the UD thread on the other page, you'll see a serious lighting setup. Unfortunately, I just do not have that technology or experience. In due time. We plan on buying a house in the next year and my studio/shop will have a proper backdrop and lighting setup.
for now.. I need to rebuild this body. School is done. Mind is rebuilt, have good job, time to focus on rebuilding this body.. just killed myself on the treadmill... 6 miles for the week. Hope to be up to 20 miles/week again soon.

Re: Final Wearer. TDK style.
walk 4 miles a day for a month and you'll be rebuilt and ready to run\
I know the studio lighting well as thats how we setup for the nightwing shoot. These have been color corrected slightly but the same lighting as the Begins studio shots was used. TDK shoot wasn't much different, just a little lower lighting, which is done in camera.

That looks good, but don't you feel that the shadows are too noticible?

Re: Final Wearer. TDK style.
You know what else? The gothams seem tighter in the calf area. Which is not a bad thing.

Re: Final Wearer. TDK style.
I may have read that somewhere. And I can see where the gray area is but at the same time- its a cape not a hand crafted sculpt of a doodaad. I don't have an ongoing thread where I am blatantly selling them and I don't hide the fact at all that I sure did have a similar copy made when we had one here. Is it identical? Dont know, i didnt do the work. The pattern is nice, though way too big for my 5'10" frame and as mentioned earlier.. I was not a fan of the material.
I also did not know that Kevin was still making them..

Re: Final Wearer. TDK style.
Oh I am giving you sh1t. I think that was a very weird statement that it is recasting. I have no interest in copying it or anything else for that matter, but just thought it was weird. I mean it is fabric. It is like if someone copied your moms undersuit patterns ya know? Or my seamstress cape patterns. I know she wouldn't care but it is funny is all.

Re: Final Wearer. TDK style.
Agreed. I think The main pull is the flocked material.. not the pattern.. I mean in all actuality, the only difference between what we were making and his is the odd neck area and the added 1.5 or so feet of length.. the length..WHICH, I actually had removed.

Re: Final Wearer. TDK style.
Yeah I didn't think the pattern was some unique thing. And same thing. I inquired about getting one but I would also have to have it shortened unless it was a display only

Re: Final Wearer. TDK style.
Look at it this way if I have gone and paid x amount for a production mad used under suit so you can get the pattern and then copy and offer under suits with said pattern and someone else copied my pattern is that right because it's not a sculpt, even if your not selling capes I think it's best to show respect and ask the guy who offered the capes if it's ok to use pattern.
