Re: 3d

A mix depending on the scene, but most where urethane and painted, only a couple of hero ones were foam and painted

two of the foam ones are on tour and the rest of them are urethane from everything I have seen first hand or been told by others with first hand knowledge

its odd that the one scene that shoulda been foam in TDK when he puts the cowl on when he's in hong kong was urethane, they had to cut the centerline on the chin strap and bridge it with spandex....

same with the suit, most of its always urethane and for a few needs the abs and inner thigh armor are foam, all of the current touring suits are alllll urethane from what I have seen, they are the same exact suits from TDK just with the gloves tucked in this time as they didn't make any new suits for TDKR to my knowledge

so in this one case dinkmonkey is correct in his statement, though his TDK cowl is not, no one I know of currently making any version of it is even close to the originals in construction, finish or fit..... but that's pretty much the normal, hell even I don't make them cored solid, I core mine with foam because its super stupid to wanna wear a heavy helmet!

But for those wanting super accurate I'd suggest neck muscle exercises and chiropractic

so back to the matter at hand

3D has its place and time, and I'm just about to print a few things so I'm going to be thankful for its use in weapons and emblems but I never see myself using it to sculpt a mask....... for that I PUSH CLAY!

Take a good long study of the new superman suit, its both sculpted and 3D printed in fabric and in emblem, and he has a foam muscle undersuit..... so did Routh but his was only the upper chest, bicep and diaphragm.... which was hand sculpted by don lanning.... NOT RENDERED

I'll allow the suit and emblem to be 3D printed because they went with a chain mail texture which would be really really really tuff to do, possible but uber expensive and time intensive

when they do Justice League it ought to be interesting what gets what treatment

And what’s ten years? Well, it’s roughly how long it takes to put in ten thousand hours of hard practice. Ten thousand hours is the magic number of greatness.
