HUSH Nightwing 2.0

Well I've pretty much done everything I can with this suit and I'm calling it done. So this is probably the very last time I'll ever touch the molds, infact I have plans to sell them and pass the torch.

Thanks to my best buddy Johann coming down to shoot these and set me up so I can do more shots like this with all the other work we have been doing in the studio.

Your welcome to point out flaws, but its pointless because I know all of them by heart. In the works for the end of the year is a 3.0 version using my original redbird foam suit painted up proper, a new clipping belt and slightly thinner diameter magnetic escrime, plus rangs, guantlets, boot armor and a foam mask since I finally have the odonnel lifecast to core my RD mask to.

Still need to process the shots we took of the suit in 360, which I hope to roll into a high res rotating GIF so the suit is visible 360 in a single frame.

Can't say enough about making full wrap suits, despite me not ever wanting to make another one out of this mold, having to resculpt the legs, sculpt a zipper cover with oblique and tail guards, really did make me think in new ways and push for a full wrap suit.

It really does make you understand the effort and wisdom behind Ozmandius, Nightowl and Silver Surfer. From this point forward I will always push for this form, fit and functional build.

Since I have drawn a line in the sand and said this will be the last year I do anything BAT because I'm missing out on making so many other heroes, I'm going to go out with a big ass bang and I hope to blow everyone away as I work thru other batfamily members, even if I only get 50% of what we have in the works done, it will hopeful prove to some people how batman could be done if they just tried, and the nail in the head will be either one or two sequels to deathwish.

As always I hope to inspire you to get your ass up and out there making the best damn things you can and bringing page after page of that world to life.

BE SAFE !

And what’s ten years? Well, it’s roughly how long it takes to put in ten thousand hours of hard practice. Ten thousand hours is the magic number of greatness.

Really really well done Jay. Wish I could have a torso like that for my collection!

Big time props!

Thanks guys.

The funny thing is I know it can and will be done even better next time.

Undersuit is 1mm smooth skin neoprene made by me.

T, if you just want a torso...... might be able to make that happen for you before the molds get sold. Email me when you get a minute and I'll go ask my boys if they want to pull one more copy.

Was guessing it was Neoprene, just hadn't seen that 'kind' before. It makes sense though considering its yours and it being 1mm thick etc

I'd love to jump on a pull from the molds for my collection if that would be possible please?

I don't have any email for you unfortunately though Jay to discuss any of this?

What a work of art. I have zero knowledge on the matter, but a Nightwing suit seems to me like it would be one of the most difficult suits to build, mainly because there is no cape to cover up half the suit lol making it that much harder to make it appear ' seamless'. Another reason why this looks awesome.

well you MEximelt would recognize peanutbutter more than anyone now wouldn;t you~

it is to bad its not perfect, as I already mentioned
quote:

The funny thing is I know it can and will be done even better next time.

but that would have to be taken up with Bob DUllam who completely phone it in on this leg sculpt, didn't finish them which is why they are so ruff and didn't listen or pay respect to the originals which is why they are wrong wrong wrong, that cannot be hidden at all when it comes to a high res cam, and I don't like to PS correct my work, prefer to show it as it is and let it stand

I nearly have the legs resculpted accurate to the originals so that's why as mentioned, the next nightwing I show will be perfect

but thank you so much for pointing out what I already pointed out hector, now run along and peanut butter up your molds

TBW, I'll email you shortly

I will send Johann a drive to put the rest of these pics on so I can finally show off the best part of this suit which was the zipper cover and escrime~

just have to figure out how to do a high res 360 spinning gif

next version will have film accurate forearm armor under the gloves to fill them out correctly and complete the muscle symetry and of course the brand new leg armor that with have a slightly less than film accurate ass on it since they gave odonnel a badunka dunk and I'll not have that on anything I make LOL

heroes should have an ass that gets the ladies attention of course, but since Robin/Nightwing wasn't attracted to the male persuasion I think it best to tone it down a little bit. LOL

also toying with the idea of an elbow armor since the TDK suit had one, though it was attached to the gauntlet it looked great, was critical to the reality of needing one and again helped create that full wrap feature, so I'll be sculpting one shortly

also the new escrime are 100 times better with a smaller diameter which helps them scale into the suit better, scribing to give them a better overall look and a laser engraving to help identify them as nightwings should he loose one LOL

yes I put a logo on them but its very very minor and tastefully done unlike the belt and boots in the film version. LOL

should have the new boot armor ready to mold either this weekend or next with photos to follow. I have to say that it really does help bring the boots in line with the suit and more importantly the comic styling

still working out the glove armor though, thats much harder to get right

stay tuned!
