Paul Ware's 89 RD cowl

Hey buds. I thought I'd come in and keep the 89 torch burning by showcasing the cowl I got from Paul's first limited run. Here you will see pics with notes in them about the modifications I made to restore the shape of the cowl as best as I could. I wish I had better quality pics but I took most of these at night with dim lighting. :/

Enjoy the pics! I will update this topic with new clearer pics when I completely mount my new build.

These below were taken in late 2010, prior to the ear metal inserts. Here I used cardboard pieces to make them bolder but they weren't as straight as they are today.

PS. I forgot to mention the "surgical" procedure I made around the jugular area of the cowl. I actually went in and trimmed a bit off the Adam's apple (throat) and developed a chin. As it were, due to the aging/wear and tear of the original cowl, it was popping out too much and made my profile shot look funky, like I had no neck or chin. I will post before and after pics later. I have to dig em up from my laptop.

Nar you finally got there.....lol

I just have to say that you are the man bro.

As I have a PJ RD cowl too I can see just how much time, patience and 89 love you have put into this modification. It looks very different to my cowl which came from the same pull.....
Overall PJs cowl is amazing....now I have Jeffs cowl its good to compare the two as they are quite different.

Both PJ and Jeff did amazing jobs with bringing these to us.

Awesome job Nar....great pics and you really do keep the 89 torch lit like the rest of us.

Love your work brother

I like how you installed the aluminum inserts, very clever. Yeah that leather should provide some good protection. Plus the wearer could bend them as they seem fit.

Love this cowl...PJ is the man for making this available for the rest of us!

Re: Paul Ware's 89 RD cowl

you know, here's another thing we can do with our cowls. Carefully glue in either spandex or lycra/spandex fabric inside the cowl, mainly around the opening for the head to go through. It makes pulling on and off soooo much easier if a cowl is tight.
I'm pretty much done modding this one. I might mod the other one I have here but I wont hack it up. Just ear inserts, left eye modding and mouth opening with metal inserts for shaping.
I'm assuming I wont have to do any modding what so ever to the one Mr.X restored. emoticon

I'm planning on making 2 latex suits. One will use a pristine set of latex armor while the other will use my left over parts and probably make it my battle damage variant suit, adding cuts and scrapes to my face.
